It's so bloody hot
Lusting after a cold cold cider, a cool breeze and some cherries.

A Few Too Many →
Application of the hair of the dog may sound like nothing more than a way of getting yourself drunk enough so that you don’t notice you have a hangover, but, according to Wayne Jones, of the Swedish National Laboratory of Forensic Medicine, the biochemistry is probably more complicated than that. Jones’s theory is that the liver, in processing alcohol, first addresses itself to ethanol, which...

For all of its merriment and joy, December is a seriously exhausting month.

Ebay.
Those last few minutes as you watch the timer count down… and you pray that no douchebag snipers swipe in and steal that object of your desire.

Friendship and all its gooey mushiness.
Sometimes I forget that I’m not alone in this world. That I have amazing, awesome friends who will step up and show that they care, usually when you least expect it. Most of the time, it’s nothing more than a skype, an sms, a fb. But the thing is, they took the time to send it. To show that they were thinking about you. And truth be told, it’s a wonderful feeling.  Sometimes you...

No Country for Innocent Men →
Texas has exonerated no fewer than 56 people. All had served years, sometimes decades, in prison; five were on death row. As Perry sees it, these exonerations don’t suggest a problem with the system—they demonstrate that it’s working. “We have a very lengthy and methodical process of appeals,” he said in March 2010. “And that is a great and good mark for Texas.” Perry made those remarks...

One more 'til the finale.
Claire Danes deserves nothing less than an Emmy, a SAG and a Golden Globe for her performance tonight. I was completely blown away. And Mandy Patinkin was amazing too- his role as Carrie’s mentor and how much he cares for her wellbeing was never more exemplified to me than it was tonight. It’s definitely shaping up to be one hell of a 90 minute season finale.  Can’t wait.

AFI Top 10 TV shows of 2011
Breaking Bad Boardwalk Empire Curb Your Enthusiasm Game of Thrones The Good Wife Homeland Justified Louie Modern Family Parks and Recreation Can we have a hell yeah for Homeland being on this list? I feel like it just hasn’t been getting as much love as it really really deserves. Would’ve loved to have seen Community on this list too… But all in all, fair choices!

A reminder.
Walk- and stand- like you deserve to be there. Because if you don’t believe it, no one else will either.  Chin up, shoulders back, eyes up.

I will never understand
Mini-skirts or short-shorts paired with mid-length boots in summer. I get that Melbourne is notorious for four seasons in one day… But seriously.

..?!
Brody, you’re a manipulative little rat, aren’t you? And yet, I can’t help but love you. I can’t believe there are only two more episodes to this season of Homeland.  Now what am I going to do with my time..?!

Yes, you should give it your best the first time round. But if you get a second chance, hell, don’t screw it up.

Being sick blows.
Thank you, unknown sickness that has hit me; instead of being at a themed housewarming as the secret love-child of Princess Leia and Stormtrooper #10, I am instead confined to my bed. Yes, I’ve swapped what was sure to be a kick-ass party for a pity party.  I really did want to have some sci-fi nerdling fun tonight.

It's here!
As much as I hate sweltering 40 degree days, Summer is finally here… which means, good riddance, Spring! I am sick of your pollen-filled days. Besides, Summer means cold alcohol, barbecues, outdoor movies, the beach and night markets. I can’t wait.
